Anita
I'm Anita Bognár, a Hatha and Flow yoga teacher. Yoga has been a part of my everyday life for years. I remember that during my first group classes, I was mostly looking forward to the final relaxation. It was difficult to focus inward, coordinate my breath, quiet my thoughts, and hold certain asanas at the same time. Over the years, this feeling has completely transformed. Today, I no longer see yoga simply as a form of exercise, but as a tool that helps me slow down, be consciously present, and connect with myself. Once you truly get a taste for it, I believe you don't really want to stop – at least, that's what happened to me.
Flow yoga is especially close to my heart, both as a practitioner and as a teacher. I love its creativity, continuous movement, and the way the poses flow into one another in rhythm with the breath.
My own practice often inspires my classes as well. There is usually a theme or focus around which I build the practice, adapting it to the particular group and the level of the participants. I enjoy approaching each class from different perspectives: sometimes a more dynamic flow takes centre stage, while at other times I create a slower, more slow-flow-style practice. I also often incorporate exercises that can help the body and mind slow down and unwind after a long day. I always try to bring a new perspective, movement, or focus into my classes.
It is important to me that each practice is built up consciously and logically, while also responding to the needs of the group. Breathing exercises play an important role in my classes, as does slowing down and relaxing at the end of the practice. I often accompany these moments with different instruments, such as singing bowls, Koshi chimes, or a tongue drum.
I would like my students to leave my classes feeling not only physically moved, but also a little more grounded, relaxed, and recharged.
